Concept drawing of vessel design to carry synthetic DNA with artwork sequenced into it into deep space. The golden moth cocoon-like space frame structure contains a sheath that holds a steel capsule of DNA within it. As the cocoon structure breaks apart once projected into space, the sheath expands open unveiling iridescent solar sails to transport the artistic message embedded in DNA into deep space. This project is still under development having undergone original prototyping and material tests. Flight mechanisms are in development as well as the spacecraft partner to send it to deep space.
