Firefly Simulation is a community-based project where guests are invited to play the video on their mobile devices and find their mate through flashing sequences, synching with the sound and light of another participant. Fireflies use bioluminescence for sexual selection. They synchronize their flashing lights when in large groups in order to attract female fireflies. This is a mating process to select potential mates. As these bright lights appear even brighter in groupings, moments of synchronicity occur.
